About Us

Boatsmartz was established in 2023, with its first product launched in September of the same year. 

We are located in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and our product line includes marine products that fill a gap in the market or replace ineffective products currently available.

All our products are invented, tested, manufactured, and assembled in Canada. Our mission is to give you more time enjoying your boat and less time (and money) maintaining your boat.

Company History and Timeline

In September 2023, the Boatsmartz brand was launched with the release of our first product, the Gelcoat Repair Kit, available on our website. By October 2023, the Boatsmartz Gelcoat Repair Kit was made available on Amazon.ca and Amazon.com.

Our Inventor

Sergio Vitomir, is a chemical engineer with a PhD and has extensive product development experience in the marine field. In the early 2000s, he worked with AkzoNobel, the owner of International Paints aerospace and marine products, providing an environmentally safe and efficient product and procedure for removing old antifouling paint.

In the late 2000s, he collaborated with Oceanmax International, now known as Propspeed International, to develop a foul release system to protect underwater metal parts, including risers, shafts, and propellers, while simultaneously removing the aged propeller foul release system.

Team

While Sergio focuses on innovation and product development, his first mate, Chandra Vitomir, handles marketing and operations for Boatsmartz, ensuring that the company runs smoothly and effectively, and making sure your orders get to you on time. Sailing Matilda is also part of the team. She's our 35' Jeanneau Sun Odyssey and always a willing test subject.
